Deadlines

Please return these required documents to Emu International Office student exchange program's email address (studentexchange@emu.edu.tr) by the following deadlines:

  • July 1 (Study at EMU for the Fall semester)
  • December 1 (Study at EMU for the Spring semester)

Prepare your Travel

Before you plan your journey to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) please consult the nearest TRNC Representative Office (http://www.mfa.gov.ct.tr/) or Turkish Embassy (www.mfa.gov.tr) for visa requirements.

North Cyprus has a Mediterranean climate with long dry summers and short, rainy winters. The average annual temperature is 19 degrees Celsius and the swimming season is from April to October. The time zone is UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer. Turkish is the official language but English is widely spoken. The cost of living in North Cyprus will depend on your standard of living, but in general, it is around US$ 300 – US$500 per month (excluding textbooks and accommodation).

All exchange students must arrive during the orientation period (hyperlink) when students are provided with information about the institution's values, behavioral norms, support services, and better acquaintance with other new students, current students, and faculty and staff members.

All new students arriving within the orientation period will be transferred to the EMU campus from Ercan Airport and will be accommodated for two days for free. For our exchange students, we request they inform us of their arrival details at least 5 business days before by sending an email to studentexchange@emu.edu.tr
