Published Date: Monday, 30 April 2018

Having waited for the much anticipated seminar on 'Emotional Intelligence', the program eventually came alive on the Friday 27th April, 2018 in the Blue Hall of Eastern Mediterranean University.

With more than 200 people in attendance, the event was attended by Nigerians, Azerbaijanis, Cameroonians, students of other nationalities, and the VOIS group. At about 18:30, the event started with the opening speech from the representative of the Nigerian Students' Society.

A detailed introduction of the context of 'emotional intelligence' was presented by the first speaker Mrs Uzgur Guler of Faculty of communication. The speaker opined on the essentials of emotional control and thereby connected the aspiration of the audience to the guest speaker who is an authority in emotional intelligence. When the guest speaker, Tekena Ikoko was called to the podium, the already pulsating audiences screamed to the admiration of the night's expectations.

There is no doubt that so much was learnt from the guest presentation which was full of illustrations and that addressed the daily life of individuals.

Because of the complexity of the topic, the guest proposed to reserve other few untouched topics for a continuation on Saturday 28 April 2018 at 10:00am. In the morning section and the last day of the program, audience had the ample opportunity to ask questions which were thoroughly attended to by the speakers.
