EMU Holds 2017 International Night In Grand Style

It was a night of funfair, unique display of culture and inter-cultural unification on Friday 12th May, 2016 as the International Office of the Eastern Mediterranean University held its 2017 International Night. The night which featured display by various Student Societies among the over 106 nationalities hosted by the EMU

The various Student Societies representing their various countries took turns to present various entertaining cultural displays to promote and display the uniqueness of their various countries. The event which had as its theme "We Are One" also had the rector of the EMU Professor Dr. Necdet OSAM and his management team in attendance. Awards of recognition and support were presented to the various sponsors and partners of 2017 EMU International Night.

The event had earlier commenced with the opening of various stands by the International Students' Societies where they displayed some of the monumental features of their countries and as well some cultural distinctions. Also, this year's event featured an international band who were on ground to provide series of entertainment. In an interview with some of the students, they commended the organizers of the event as well as the management of the University for such event stating that this year's event is an improvement on past International Nights. They stated that the international Night stands out among other programmes organised by the University as it is the best and most unique platform for students of various nationalities to showcase the various uniqueness in their culture.

The students also stated that the night provides a platform for them to meet new friends from other nationalities, learn about their culture as well as unite with some friends whom for academic reasons have been unavailable for a long time. They however called on the management not to relent on the various international, social and cultural activities as it serves as a means of learning.

The event had a very remarkable turnout of students, staff as well as friends of EMU. The sponsors include Ramen Dormitory, Akdeniz Dormitory, New From Gym, Halil Hamza Ayakkabi, Longson Dormitory, Alfam Dormitory, Prime Living Dormitory, Arkin Palm Beach Hotel, Port View Hotel, Salamis Bay Conti Resort Hotel and Er Reklam Agency. Others are İtimat Kıbhas, Turkcell, EMU Lala Mustafa Paşa Gym, Ekor, Daü-koop, EMU Table d'Hote, Roof Restaurant, Happily White Queen and Döveç.
